Happy Halloween!!!

Its the day of spooks!! *ignore the false enthusiasm* But seriously, it's depressing how Botswana absolutely DOES NOT CARE about Halloween and make it special in any way. Nothing is done here to commemorate Halloween. So this is my honorary post for Halloween. For all you lucky people out there who are dressing up, partying and just having some good ol' scary fun...this one's for you :)

So here's a couple of epic Halloween costumes I found..well not all of them are SPECTACULAR but its just fun to see the results of celebrities' imaginations :)

Gosh, this is hilarious!!!

Kim Kardashian>>>>interesting to see her with red hair

AnnaLynne McCord and her sisters

This is probably the craziest costume I've ever seen!! And it's Heidi Klum!!!

Ooooo...I like these nails :)

The PLL girls!!

And now for some videos>>>>

Happy Gagaween!!! You can see all of her epic costumes in this hilarious vid!! :D

Lighting Up People's Words

This day has been marked on my calendar for ages now. Today is Diwali. The festival of lights celebrated by Hindus (in case you're wondering, I myself am a Hindu). This festival isn't just about lights though. For Hindus, it marks a new year, a new beginning. A chance to forgive and forget everything from the past and move forward with life. A chance to turn over new leaves and accept new things. And of course, to enjoy the amazing food that's made on Indian occasions such as these!
I'm feeling great today. Mainly because I could sleep in and not have to worry about school *yes, our school gave today off for Hindus. Sometimes I really love my those people*
Well apart from Diwali I wanna talk about last night, which, let's just say, experienced the absence of light. Confused? Well, last night was my school's yearly musical showcase called Tutti and Soli. The name means "everyone" and "solo" in Italian. The orchestra performed three pieces (in which I played the flute) and I also played a flute duet composed by one of my friends. The highlight of the show was a beautiful duet with a guitar and flute. The romantic piece was called "Blue Hill" and was composed by the guitarist himself. It was definitely a major crowd-pleaser. Well unfortunately the concert was cut short due to a power failure. So yes, it was sure a hectic night due to frantic rehearsals and trying to find your friends and fellow performers in pitch-black dark. And the agonising fact was that it was crazy hot yesterday so all of us were basically sweating swimming pools under the harsh spotlights, however disgusting that sounds. Anyways I wanted to share a beautiful post from one of my friend's blogs which was a moving poem that was performed last night. Well, see for yourself below

I really hope you enjoyed that :)

Happy Diwali everyone!!!! :D

Replay Wednesday: The Only Exception

I'm not a normal Paramore fan but for this song, *I made the exception*. Excuse the lame pun! But seriously, I haven't been able to get this song off my mind at all and I just knew I had to share it with you in my Replay Wednesday post. The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful and yes, to be honest, I'm a total sucker for tragically romantic ballads ;) So I've done enough talking and you need to listen to this song!!! Check it out below:

When I was younger, I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart and I watched
As he tried to reassemble it

And my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love if it does not exist

But darling, you are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

Maybe I know, somewhere deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways to make it alone
Or keep a straight face

And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable distance
And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk

But you are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

I've got a tight grip on reality
But I can't let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof, it's not a dream, oh

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

And I'm on my way to believing
Oh, and I'm on my way to believing

The beautiful cover of this song by the Glee cast. I apologize for bad quality!!

Wonderstruck

If you don't already know (meaning, you aren't a die-hard Swiftie) Taylor Swift has just released a magical new fragrance that she entirely created. The name of the perfume is Wonderstruck. Here's why:

“I wrote the lyric, ‘I’m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,’ for the song ‘Enchanted’ about the first time you meet someone. A fragrance can help shape someone’s first impression and memory of you. It’s exciting to think that “Wonderstruck” will play a role in creating some of those memories.”

Sounds super fab!!  I wish I could own it myself but unfortunately Botswana still needs some time to catch up so till then, I'll just have to wait for Foschini stores to stock them  ;)

The scent is made up of a mixture of freesia, apple blossom, honeysuckle, vanilla, and amber. Sounds so sweet, dreamy and romantic, I'm sure I'd fall in love with it!

Taylor says, "Falling in love is a moment every girl daydreams about and Wonderstruck represents that magical feeling of promise and hope and intrigue."

Awesome sauce!!! See pics of her at the launch of her perfume and the pretty fragrance bottle below:

Here's the dress that Taylor wore in her perfume's ads. Its so flipping GORGEOUS I could die!!!! Like, wow. Its the most romantic, dreamy, truly enchanting dress I have ever seen. In case you're wondering, its Christian Siriano. *feeling poor and horribly dressed all of a sudden* ;)

And here's the ad itself!! It's like a mini-movie but so enjoyable and captures the essence of the perfume perfectly. Just make sure you actually pay attention to the beauty of it (and the cute guy) instead of just drooling over the dress! After all, its about the perfume :)

And here's 'Enchanted', the song that the lyric 'Wonderstruck' is from:

Random note: I can play this entire song on the piano! :D lol *feeling very proud of myself right now*

Quoted Thursday: Lucy Hale

"I just love the thrill of performing on stage. I believe that singing is something I was put here to do."

"My ultimate dream is to become a famous star because I love to sing."

"I have always sang...ever since I could talk. I actually started taking it seriously when I was 8 years old. Since, then I have always wanted to be a star! "

"It's fun to pretend you're a little kid, you get to use your imagination and live in a world that's not real."

Replay Wednesday: It Will Rain

This song is just so beautiful. Every guy should sing it for his girl. At first, when I heard this song, I wasn't so crazy about it, but then the lyrics stuck and the song was playing in my head over and over again. And come on, it's Bruno Mars! Who wouldn't love it? Very heartfelt. Also, this song is quite relevant right now, since we're experiencing some rainy weather here in Botswana. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the song! Catch it on the soundtrack of Breaking Dawn Part 1

If you ever leave me baby,
Leave some morphine at my door
‘Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don’t have it anymore.

There’s no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I’m makin’
Will keep you by my side
Will keep you from walkin’ out the door.

Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same, if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain...

I’ll never be your mother’s favorite
Your daddy can’t even look me in the eye
Oooh if I was in their shoes, I’d be doing the same thing
Sayin there goes my little girl
Walkin’ with that troublesome guy

But they’re just afraid of something they can’t understand

Oooh well little darlin’ watch me change their minds
Yeah for you I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try I’ll try
I’ll pick up these broken pieces ’til I’m bleeding
If that’ll make you mine

Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain...

Don’t just say, goodbye
Don’t just say, goodbye
I’ll pick up these broken pieces ’til I’m bleeding
If that’ll make it right

Cause there’ll be no sunlight
If I lose you, baby
There’ll be no clear skies
If I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday it will rain, rain, rain...

Here's another song from Breaking Dawn Part 1 by the amazing Christina Perri *yes, that amazing girl who sang Jar of Hearts*. Listen to "A Thousand Years" below:

Fashion

Some lovely sets for you!
You are an angel..
This set is picture perfect. I love the colour scheme and the way the outfit is accessorized with blue accents. The hair looks perfect and the jewellery is amazing. And those gloves!!! How I'd love to own a pair of those! *lost in a daydream*

You are a fantastic dancer
Isn't this so beautiful? This picture gets me all nostalgic because I used to be a ballerina once, myself. This set portrays the grace, glamour and beauty of ballet perfectly.

Le monde
This so pretty! I love the soft pastel hues of blush pink and sky blue interwined together. And those beautiful shoes are killer! Definitely something to add to my wish list! I think this set is tres chic and girly; just the way I like it.

You're obviously wondering why I put this here ;) Well, lets just say that I love this song and I though it would be nice to put some music in this post but still keep it relevant to fashion. And who doesn't love this song? It's a mix of French words, designer brand names and Lady Gaga-ness. Enjoy ;D

Are You Happy Now?

So I think all of you know about my obsession with Megan and Liz. Well, this time I have some mega news. My fave Youtube stars have teamed up with DoSomething.org to make a song that raises awareness about bullying. The official video will be released on October 17th on Teen.com so make sure you head over to see it! It's been filmed at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles and of course, it's titled Are You Happy Now. The extra bonus is that the video is directed by none other than 90210 star, Shenae Grimes! I think a lot of you will be excited about that. There are a ton of teasers and behind-the scenes videos out already so check out the links for them below :)

Girl Power

I deeply apologize for not posting this entire week. Things have been so hectic because its been assessment week so all the teachers have loaded us with a million tests. Ahh well, at least it's finally over! So moving on to today's post.
Well, as you can see Heather Morris is Seventeen Magazine's latest cover girl! It's about time they put a Gleek on the cover. I always pictured uit to be Lea Michele but I'm so glad they put Heather instead! She really spices up the show with her amazing character, Brittany. The show would tank without her ;)
See her fun photoshoot pics below:

So I'm also gonna cram in the Replay Wednesday and Quoted Thursday posts in here. *Yes, I'm guilty of doing this too many times!*

Run The World- Heather Morris and Glee Cast

I don't particularly like this song but Heather makes it so fun with her kick-ass dance moves and infectious girl power!

And now for the quotes:

(On her tattoo) "That's a tribute to my dad that I got when I was 18. It's wings and a little angel who watches over me."

" I think everybody wants to have a Brittany-ism! She can say any random thing and it’s funny. I look forward to [the lines] I have to say. "

"I think our generation is definitely more open and accepting. But more so, we have technology and music, and people cling to the music most."

And my favourite, from Glee,  the infamous quote that just couldn't be excluded...

"Did you know dolphins are just gay sharks?"

:D She said that in the most ditziest way ever, making it look like she really believed it! :D

Hope you enjoyed this post! xoxo vami-kat
