Les Olympics

I'm pretty sure the whole world will be ALL OVER the Olympics today and every blogger will be posting something about it, if they haven't already done so.
But there's no harm in joining the masses is there? After all, we gotta show a little patriotism at some point right? ;)

Now I dislike sports *with the exception of badminton* and I think gymnastics and skating are amazing *not that I'd ever do them in a million years* and of course, I find archery wicked since I saw Katniss Everdeen flinging around her bow and arrow. And I do think synchronized swimming looks beautiful...but yet, even for the anti-sports girl like me, the Olympics is still  *quite* an exciting event. I mean, it's the Olympics. We wait four years for this thing and its only two weeks long (not long enough in my opinion) so who wouldn't be?
And just how can we miss the great pomp and circumstance with which it is done with and the grand affair that the event ultimately becomes?

I only pray those darn terrorists don't show up and ruin it. God knows, my country has endured enough of their crap.
But if they bring it to innocent people just enjoying their Olympics, well that would be sick and terrible and cruel.
Indeed.

I don't know, I think its artful ;)

Britain's first Olympic champion was actually a minor Scottish aristocrat born in...India (!woohoo!)

They're jokingly described as two-parts teletubby and one-part lava lamp. Olympic mascot Wenlock is the official mascot for the 2012 London Summer Olympics :)

The oldest woman to have ever competed in the Olympic games was  equestrian Hilda L. Johnstone at age 70. She competed in the Dressage Event of the 1972 Munich games.

The five Olympic rings represent the five major regions of the world -Africa, the Americas, Oceania, Europe, Asia- and every single country in the world includes one of the colours- blue, black, yellow, green and red.

Danny Boyle, director of Slumdog Millioanire and 127 hours, is directing the London Olympics opening ceremony extravaganza.

I am actually watching the opening ceremony live at this very moment that I type this. Just saw the Botswana team walk out :) Totally freaked by the number of Chinese athletes....whoa!! So now I'm just waiting for India to walk out and then I'll head to bed. It's 11:52pm after all.
Studying for exams is a slow and painful death. Haha

Beads of Memories

There's these two girls in my class who are *very fittingly* best friends and they're always wearing these amazing bracelets and I positively go green with envy everytime I see them. Then I shamelessly, hopelessly copy their look :P
But well, mine look so infereior :{

But I always marvel at the fact that each bracelet is pretty boring or mediocre on its own but when they all come together, its amazing.
I know, I know, friendship bracelets and all that stuff are a *smidge* juvenile but hey, acting infantile is fun okay? ;)

Homework: Type out geography notes.
Transcribe Russian NEP notes into book.

Milky Way

Milky Way is the only decent ice cream parlour Botswana has, sadly. And since I didn't really want to name this post something ridiculously generic like ice-cream or candy, I just decided to use Milky Way.
Which, now that I think about it, sounds kinda stupid.
ANYWHO

Pastel colours are the shizz and fashion that reminds me of dessert is never a bad thing ;)

A Cup of Jewels perhaps?

I'm a sucker for cool, awesome ways to organize jewellery, headbands and any other supremely girly items that people like me, hoard on.

I own like, a TON of bracelets and my earrings are forever rolling around all over the place while my necklaces are a tangled mass of sparkly metal strings and lockets. It's utter chaos for an accessory junkie comme moi.

Obviously, before there was that trend of draping your jewellery on those little headless doll thingys *not exactly sure what they're called* but the new trend is to DIY your organisation tools OR buy like, those really awesome vintage looking sparkly jewellery boxes.
However, I found this fantastic thing on THIS blog, where you can store your jewellery in a perfectly regal way, quite simply using your mother's outdated china tea-set. Intrigued?

Grab a bunch of twigs, paint them you wall's colour et voila!  Your wall of jewels is complete.

Store your bling using the classic cup-and saucer way.

Try using a cupcake stand for easy, effortless tossing aside of rings, buttons and any other small sparkly item.

Barrettes, earrings and pendants can conveniently be stowed away in china bowls and plates.

A tea tray of jewels for the girl in a rush.

The clever usage of cake stands to display jewellery in a professional way.

Simply fabulastico. Anybody notice that the earrings are color-coordinated? Now that's called being organized people.

Very useful trick to storing your headbands. Fantastic for the Blair Waldorf wannabes of the world *like me* ;)
